Temporary Sandbox

Bailey spent a load of time in her old sandbox, and she has been missing it.  There is a place here in town where you can get sand for free and Miles needed some for the garden.  He got some extra and picked a spot for a sandbox where we didn't plant this year. Bailey loves it!  She has access to water right at the sand, and the combination is a kid's dream.

Harvey ND Trip

We recently took a trip to Harvey to see Miles's folks.  I wish I would have been better about taking pictures so that I could post a bunch of them, but no such luck.  So you will just have to picture the most mosquitoes you have ever seen in one place and you will have a good idea of our trip.  They were having a massive explosion of the nasty critters so we spent lots of time inside at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Oh well, the girls had lots of fun anyway. We did go to the pool one day, and I managed to take a few pictures.

Father's Day Campout

On Father's Day Miles decided he wanted to have a fire and camp-out with Bailey in the backyard.  The weather was perfect, and I was prepared with Smore's ingredients.  It was a nice evening.  Of course Josie and I came back inside to sleep, but Miles and Bailey cuddled up in the tent.  Unfortunately they didn't have quite enough blankets and ended up back in the house around 5:00 am.  Oh well.

When the Bouncy House doesn't show up ...

Miles City had a Mosquito Festival planned, and we didn't know what to expect.  The paper promised bouncy houses, cotton candy, snowcones, and kid activities.  Bailey was quite excited.  I left Josie home with Miles, and we headed downtown.  Unfortunately when we got there we didn't see any of the above mentioned items.  I am not sure what happened, but there was nothing for kids to do at all.  Then we saw a trailer pull up, and a few guys started unfolding all kinds of cardboard boxes and throwing them in the blocked-off street.  It turns out the boxes were meant for one thing - KIDS!  The kids had so much fun building houses, knocking them down, and building them again.  The evening was saved!

When In Miles City ...

We might be the only people in town who know nothing about horses, and Bailey wasn't too happy about that.  We heard about Pivotal Movements because Miles works with the lady who owns it.  They do horse lessons and clinics, along with therapy involving horses.  We signed Bailey up for an Intro to Horses clinic, and it was a great experience.

Frolicking in the Froggy Pool

The Froggy Pool is fantastic!  We met friends there this week, and Bailey loved it.  We will be there many, many times this summer. I didn't put Josie in the pool this first time, but I know she is going to like it too.  I am looking to buy one of those infant float rings with a canopy and she can just float around watching all the kids.

Sad at Dairy Queen - Yes it can happen.

Well it is official, our friends the Houlds have moved to Helena.  We knew it was coming, but I was a bit in denial.  We really hit it off with them right when we moved to town, and they have been our closest friends here in Miles City.  We wish them all kinds of happiness in the big city, but we really miss them.  On their last night in town we met up at Dairy Queen for treats after the kids had their t-ball games.  We visited and had yummy treats, but our hearts were heavy.  At the end of the evening Bailey stood in the parking lot and cried, and it just about broke my heart.

We will miss you guys!

Fun in the sun!

I think the title of this post says it all.

The girl really likes worms.

I love that Bailey wanted to have a snack and brought out fruit and veggies.

Josie's first time in the pool.

Finished Fence!

Miles warned me that our new fence would be a big project, but I didn't realize just how big.  He worked so hard on our fence, and it turned out amazing.  It is finally done!  Here are some progress pictures and a few final shots.

Rainbow Run and Goofy Josie

Bailey and I took part in the Rainbow Run this weekend.  It is a fundraiser for a local foundation called Erin's Hope Project.  The foundation raises money to help ill children take outdoor adventure trips.  The run/walk is called the Rainbow Run because everyone gets packets of colored powder to throw on each other.  There are prizes for the most colorful characters.  Everyone is supposed to wear a white shirt and see how colorful you can get.  We did the walk with our friends the Taylors, and the kids had lots of fun with the colors.  I forgot my camera for the actual walk, but we took a couple of pictures when we got home. They don't really show how covered Bailey was, and I really had to scrub to get the color out of her hair.

Josie didn't get to do the walk with us, but I had to throw this picture in the mix.  This is a very typical face from her these days.  She is such a silly baby.
