Just Josie AGAIN!

Maybe it is because I am home with just Josie all morning or maybe it is because she does the cutest things sometimes, but for whatever reason I seem to take quite a few pictures of her.  Most of them are blurry because she doesn't ever stand still, but every now and then I get one that makes my heart melt.

Josie refused to get into her highchair yesterday and insisted on sitting in a big girl chair.  She is growing up way too fast!

This picture has skyrocketed to the top of my favorite list.  How can you not smile when you look at it?

Valentine's Day Treats

Bailey and I have been trying to make the Valentines for her classroom instead of buying the little cards.  Don't get me wrong, kids love the little cards with candy attached, but I think it is fun to find a little project to make together.  This year we found a cute idea online (which is where most of "my" ideas come from) and this is what we did:

We melted vanilla candies and filled the spoons.  Then Bailey got to add all kinds of sprinkles.

We wrapped each one in a bag with names written on them.

We put a label on the back because writing on the bags wasn't all that easy.
We hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Who needs toys when you have a laundry basket?

The girls love to play with the laundry basket.  I think it might be Josie's favorite thing right now.  I came around the corner and saw this and rushed to take a picture before they climbed out:

Very Busy Weekend!

Our weekend started a bit early with Miles' birthday on Thursday.  The girls and I decided it would be fun to make a cake.  Bailey was adamant that the cake be chocolate fudge.  Wish granted.  Triple chocolate fudge cake and triple chocolate fudge frosting with chocolate chips.

Josie joined in on the cake preparations. Yes that is a plastic bag, and yes we used a cake mix. I can admit that baking from scratch just isn't my thing. I'm okay with that.

Who wants to lick a beater?

Chocolate = yummy!

Bailey worked so hard to frost the cake.

We decided #1 Dad would be easier for Bailey to fit than Happy Birthday Daddy.

We surprised Dad with the cake and even sang before he blew out his candle.

And finally it was time to enjoy all of that chocolatey goodness.

By Friday we had all recovered from the sugar shock, and we got invited to go Rock-n-Roll bowling with our friends the Houlds.  We started out the evening with dinner at their house then we headed to the lanes.  It was a very fun night.

Haley entertained Josie for me while we ate some delicious curry chicken.

Josie explored every inch of the bowling alley.

Here are the kids getting ready to bowl before the lights went down and the fog started rolling in.

Let the Rock-n-Roll bowling begin!

Daddy and Bailey both got strikes!  Okay that isn't true but they did have a great time!

Saturday night we had two couples over for appetizers before heading out to dinner.  All of the kiddos stayed at our house with a sitter and proceeded to get out every toy we own followed by root beer floats.  I am pretty sure they had a good time.  We had some fun ourselves.  I didn't take any pictures of us, but I am thinking it is for the best.  No evidence.

Super Bowl Sunday brought the Houlds as well as Travis and the boys over to our house.  We all ate way too much food, well maybe that was just me.  Anyway, it was a nice, relaxing evening.  Everyone at our house was very tired by the end of the eventful weekend, and we all struggled to get up and start another Monday today.  I guess that is the price you pay for all of that fun!

Josie really warmed up to Sam and Melynda Hould.  Here she is cuddling with Sam during the game.

Travis and Melynda can be seen watching Seattle score AGAIN!

I convinced Caden to stand still long enough to get a picture.

The kids had the game turned on downstairs, and I think they actually watched a few minutes of it.

Travis spend lots of the game with at least one kiddo on his lap.
