A Very Special Weekend!

We had an amazing weekend over June 21-22!  On Saturday the girls were baptized at our church.  It was a beautiful day, and we are incredibly thankful that so many members of our family could be here to celebrate with us.  After the ceremony we enjoyed lunch, cake, and nice gifts for the girls at our house.  Pastor Rice joined us as well.

Sarah helped the girls open some gifts.

Kathy brought a special and delicious cake.  Thanks!

Josie's God Parents:  Travis and Jen Muscha

After the wonderful day on Saturday we also got to celebrate Bailey's First Communion at church on Sunday.  She got to enter with Pastor Rice and wear a special robe and collar for her important day.  We were so proud of her and excited for her to be part of Holy Communion.

We all gathered back at our house for another nice afternoon before people had to leave for home.

I wish I had gotten more pictures of all the family members who came to spend the weekend with us, but thank you all for making the trip and being here to support us.  We love you!

Winston and Mosquito Festival

For a good portion of each day I am furious with Winston for any number of reasons.  He chews through cords, eats our shoes, destroys toys, dig up my flowers, rips apart house plants, completely removes the padding on Bailey's bike seat, digs holes in the yard, gets up at 5:00 am and demands attention, and runs away when he gets in trouble.  But for the few minutes each day that he isn't in trouble he is very adorable.  He loves the kids and Ellie, and he is so cute when he finally wears himself out and falls asleep.

The annual Mosquito Festival happened over the weekend along with the Cowtown Cookoff.  We didn't take part in all the events, but I did take the girls and the Hould girls downtown to see what was happening.  Free cotton candy and snow cones!  We checked out the bike show and wandered through the BBQ.

Emma, Haley, and Bailey next to their favorite bike.

Josie had no problem polishing off her first snow cone.

Then she started on Bailey's left over cotton candy.  I love that she is holding the empty snow cone cup along with the cotton candy.  Heaven.

Highland Games, Froggy Pool, and Cake!

The Miles City Caledonia Society put on the Scottish Highland Games last weekend and I took the girls to check it out.  We also wanted to see Clea dance with the Caledonia Dancers.  The day was a bit chilly, but Bailey had fun playing the games and cheering for Clea.

The pan toss
The favorite game was the water balloon toss.

The Froggy Pool finally opened, and I promised the girls we would go as soon as it was a warm day.  Unfortunately we are having a bit of a cool spell, but we decided to give it a try one afternoon.  Not my best idea.  We made it about 20 minutes until both girls were shivering and Josie's lips were turning blue.  We gave up and played at the park instead.  But we are excited for warmer days at the pool.

Somehow I missed this picture from Sarah's graduation weekend.  How did I miss a picture of cake??  Yummy!

Congratulations beautiful girl!

Sarah's Graduation Weekend

Bailey and I left Dad home with Josie and the dogs while we headed to Belgrade for Sarah's graduation weekend.  On Friday night we attending a party for Sarah and a couple of her friends at the rec room on the MSU campus.  Bailey had fun with her cousins and friends.

Bailey and Elyse got to have a sleep-over with Grandma. I think this picture was taken around 11:00 pm.

On Saturday evening everyone gathered at Mom and Wayne's house for a BBQ and gifts for Sarah.

We didn't quite get all the cousins together, but took some pictures anyway. Josie and Jordan are missing.

Bailey was excited to get dressed up for graduation on Sunday.

We are so proud of you Sarah!
Someone blew an air horn right as we took this picture.

WOOHOO!

We also got to spend time with Grandpa Bob and Grandma Sue as well as many of our great friends in the valley.  It was a very nice weekend.

All good things must come to an end.

Hannah-Banana has been coming to our house after school a couple of days a week all year.  We have sure spent a lot of time with her, and we really enjoyed having her at our house.  On her last day with us we went to Discovery Pond for a special ice-cream treat.

Bailey also had her last day of kindergarten, which was a cry-fest.  She cried the night before, she cried the morning of, and she cried through the end of the year BBQ.  I did manage to get her to smile for a couple of year end pictures.  I guess it is great that she likes school so much, but unfortunately she is already "bored" with summer.

After much discussion, we all decided it was time to say good-bye to some of Bailey's very long hair.  It turned out to be much less traumatic than I anticipated.  Bailey agreed to cut off enough to donate to Locks of Love, and I think the new cut looks great on her.

Grandpa Bob - you will notice that she took along her gecko for support.  Both of the girls sleep with them every night.
