"I Really Miss Uncle Twaig"

We headed to Spearfish to see Traig, Laura, and the kids.  We splurged on a hotel room at the Deadwood Lodge, which has a very cool water playland.  The girls were so excited.  We crammed in soccer games, swimming, a birthday party, fun at the park, and some yummy ice-cream.  It was a great trip.  When we got home Josie asked when could we go back to Spearfish because she really missed Uncle Traig.  Awww.

Josie didn't venture out past her knees, but she loved the water playland.

Getting up the courage to go down the slide without me to catch her.

She did it!

Bailey and Elyse had a great time on the lily pads.

"Look Mommy, I'm a mermaid."

The very cool pirate ship.

The February weather was amazing so we headed to the park.

We hit a creamery before leaving town.  Ice cream with the cousins!

Spearfish is such a cool town, and of course our wonderful family lives there.  We MUST go more often.

Shrek Jr. the Musical

I think I have said it before, but it needs to be repeated.  We have a wonderful local theater company, The Barn Players.  They put on plays throughout the year, and Bailey has been fortunate enough to be involved in six of them so far.  The latest play was an all youth cast of Shrek Jr, the Musical.  She rocked the audition, and she was so excited to get the part of Young Fiona.  She got a bit nervous when she found out the part included a solo song, but she had such a great time.  We are so thankful that Miles City provides these amazing opportunities for kids to get involved with theater.

All the kids got an opportunity to sing on the radio to promote the show.

The 3 Fionas belting it out at rehearsal.
Dress Rehearsal!

Doesn't she make a gorgeous Fiona?

The Three Blind Mice

Lots of cute fairy tale creatures

Lord Farquaad and the Duloc Townsfolk

The dragon who guards Fiona

Shrek and Fiona

Young and "Old" Fiona

Bailey opened a scene and sang all alone on the stage.  She nailed it!

Young, teen, and adult Fiona singing together.

Our little thespian!
We are so proud of Bailey and all the kiddos who rehearsed ALL those weeks and put on three shows in one weekend.  What an adventure!  Bailey is already looking forward to the next play.

A Couple of Things I Missed

Bailey's class had Movie Star day!  She rocked it!

Miles likes to take the girls and the dogs on walks.  I think it makes for nice daddy-daughter bonding time.

Bailey and I made valentines again this year.  These were shovels that said "I Dig You" along with gummy worms and chocolates for the dirt.
