Pancakes and Princesses

Miles City does an annual "Breakfast with the Princesses" event at the old Ursaline Convent.  Bailey was so excited, and REALLY wanted to dress as Elsa from Frozen.  I didn't want to spend a fortune on an actual Elsa dress, so I promised I would make a dress for Bailey.  Oh, and I don't really know how to sew or make dresses.  We started out with a blue sequined leotard which I took to Walmart in search of matching fabric.  Making the long skirt wasn't too hard, but trying to figure out how to make a flowing cape type thing with long sleeves was interesting.  The fabric I chose was IMPOSSIBLE to work with and kept unraveling.  I wanted to give up but I had made a promise to a very cute 6 year old. I finally got something put together, and Bailey proclaimed it to be "perfect!"  Score some major points for Mom.  Bailey had a great time at the event, and the dress make it through without completely falling apart.  Success!

Of course we had to do the messy side-braid like Elsa.

Bailey loved how the back flowed out behind her.

She wanted the train even longer but I figured everyone would keep stepping on it.

Price Charming and Cinderella? Not quite sure.

Bailey and her friend Emma were both beautiful Elsas.

And of course there were pancakes! Because what princess doesn't love pancakes?

And royal dancing was in order!
