- Bailey has a boyfriend. Doesn't that sound very scary. Say it again and let it sink in. Bailey has a boyfriend. Ouch. Now I know it means very little considering she is only almost 6 years old, but it makes me think of years to come full of drama, heartache, tears, dreamy smiles, and unfortunately boys. Anyway, she has fallen for a boy in her class named Cobin. He was also on her soccer team this spring, but she has just recently noticed him in a new light. He is in her class at school, and it sounds like they have quite a little romance going on. On the way to school the other day she informed me she was "falling in love" with Cobin. Oh boy. She really used the words "falling in love." She also said she didn't know she loved him until he told her that he liked her. At least she is waiting for the guy to make the first move. Please don't break my little girl's heart Cobin.
- We are working hard to get healthy and eat better in our house. I am focusing on more whole foods and less junk food around here. I finally joined the gym and have been dragging myself out of bed at 5:20 to take a 5:45 am class. So far things are going well, and I am learning to try new meals with my family. Miles is open to anything, and he always appreciates whatever I make. Bailey on the other hand is not huge on change. We have talked quite a bit about what it means to eat healthy and that she will have to try new things. She nods like she understands but then isn't so sure when I put a strange dinner in front of her. We are figuring it out though. I had to pat myself on the back yesterday when it was time for a snack. I have banished most of our old snack choices in favor of fruit, veggies, and nuts. So I offered to make her a bit of trail mix that usually consists of almonds, raisins, and a few chocolate chips as a special treat. Well she said she wanted trail mix but not with the chocolate chips because she didn't think she needed the sugar. I got a big smile on my face and prepared her the almonds with raisins. I was feeling quite smug for a few short minutes. Then she asked "Since I didn't have any chocolate chips can I have a few Gobstoppers from the candy bin." Bummer. I really need to empty the candy bin which consists of left over parade candy and goodies from the many pinatas that seem popular at every birthday party we attend. Oh well, everything in moderation, right?
- Josie is cute. Yep, it is true. I know parents always think their kids are cute, but I get confirmation on a daily basis. There is something about that little girl that seems to put a smile on faces wherever we go. She is so happy and fun, even when she is getting into everything she can reach. I absolutely adore her. Recently she is obsessed with a little Elmo backpack we have. She wants to wear it all the time. When she can't figure out how to get it on she brings it to me and then turns around so I will help her. She wants to be just like her big sister. When she finally crashes for the day I love to take a peak at her, and last night I had to sneak a picture. LOVE!
This is my attempt to document the lives of my wonderfully amazing daughters Bailey and Josephine. I might sneak in a few details about myself, my hubbie Miles, & our dogs Ellie and Winston along the way.
